3239I have remained active my entire life and I’ve really tried to maintain a high level of physical fitness since joining the Army in 2003.  I have implemented Army Physical Fitness, weight training, and distance running without significant success until 2009. Just like everyone else,  I’ve reached plateaus and fallen into ruts with my work out regimens.

In 2007 after returning from Iraq I had rotator cuff and glenoid labrum repair on my left shoulder.  For months I had difficulty getting back into a routine.  I was unable to drop the weight I  put on while recovering from surgery.  I was nowhere near in shape and didn’t know how to get out of the rut I was in. Then, in early 2009 I began talking to Bryan Kieffer and Jeff Helms about a program called CrossFit.  I’m not going to lie.  It didn’t sound fun or easy.  But, I gave it a try.  After 3 workouts I finally committed, and I’ve never looked back.  I lost the 40lbs I’d put on, but more importantly I increased my Fitness level (work capacity) and better prepared myself for everyday life.  I started performing functional movements that I actually used.  I experienced new and different workouts every time I did CrossFit while simultaneously becoming part of a community.  I got in the best shape of my life and had fun while doing it.  Was it hard? Hell yes.  Was it worth it?  Undoubtedly.

I have been married to my wife Elisha since 2003 and have 2 sons Bryce and Baron.

My training Philosophy:
It’s better to be better and you can be.
